About This Class

We understand the importance of learning through play in the early years. Our class is specifically designed to cater to this natural curiosity, providing a space where young children can explore various textures, sounds, colors, shapes, and sizes. We also offer opportunities for grow motor development through age-appropriate materials. The class allows parents and caregivers to spend quality time with their children.

We know how important it is for kids to have space and feel comfortable, which is why we keep our classes small—just 10 children per class, with one caregiver accompanying each child.

Five playful weeks of process art and sensory exploration! Each week brings a new theme with open-ended activities that encourage children to explore materials, experiment, and create in their own way.

Explore the familiar world of home through building, painting with household objects, and imaginative sensory play.

🍂 November 16–22 | Thanksgiving Celebration
Celebrate togetherness with fall colors, harvest-inspired sensory play, and a creative pretend feast.

November 23–29 | Thanksgiving Break — No Classes

🥧 November 30–December 6 | Comfort Food
Step into our pretend kitchen to mix, scoop, knead, and create food-inspired art with dough, paint, and playful textures.

❄️ December 7–13 | Winter Wonderland
Discover frosty colors, fluffy textures, ice painting, and snowy sensory invitations.

🎄 December 14–20 | Christmas Celebration
Enjoy festive art and sensory play filled with Christmas colors, decorating, and creative discoveries!

Cancellation policy:

We’re super flexible and give you up to one year to use your make-up class!

The only thing we ask is that you let us know by email or text message at least 24 hours in advance if you’re unable to attend your scheduled class.

You’re welcome to use your make-up class during one of our Open Art Play sessions, or you can apply its value as a gift card toward another Childway class or event.

Class Details

What Is Process Art?

At Childway Studio, we believe that the creative process is more important than the final product.

Our classes are process art, not teacher-led craft classes. There are no step-by-step instructions, templates, or expectations that every child creates the same project. Instead, children are invited to explore, experiment, and create freely using a variety of high-quality art materials and sensory experiences.

Our classes feel much like open art play, but with one important difference: the same small group of children meets together each week for six weeks.

This consistency helps children:

Build friendships with familiar peers.
Feel comfortable and confident in their environment.
Develop trust with their teacher and classmates.
Gain the confidence to explore, create, and express themselves freely.

A predictable, familiar setting is especially important for young children. When they feel safe and secure, they are more willing to take creative risks, engage deeply in play, and develop independence.

Our role is not to tell children what to make—we carefully prepare inspiring invitations to create, observe their interests, and support their individual ideas. Every child’s artwork is unique because every child’s imagination is unique.
